I know you're out there, reading and watching, just not commenting. Fine. FINE. Be that way.

I'm going to write about the weather. I know, kind of boring, but the only other thing I could think to write about was Katrina and who the hell wants to talk about her again?

The weather has been beautiful. Sunny! and bright, not a cloud in the sky, brilliant and sunny, warm where you can feel the sun on your back but with a breeze strong enough to keep the sweat off your brow.

And then yesterday it got cold. On August 29th, the weather became (to a New Orleans native) fallish. And with the chill in the weather came a grey. An oppressive grey, a grey that covered all substances and made them loose their own color. And I panicked a bit.

Because I'm not ready for the rain. I know that sometime in late November or early December it's going to start. The sky will darken, the mist and the fog will wrap me in their depressing embrace. I feel like I need to start saving my sanity now, bottling it up and preserving it for that span of rainy months.

How can I mentally prepare myself, and how can I keep my spirits up during the winter? Any suggestions?
