A Standstill

I have a slight dilemma. It certainly isn't a huge problem, and most of you may not even be able to relate but I have to talk about it.

I'm at a scrapping standstill. I feel this huge passion for scrapbooking, for creating things with paper and ink and glue and stuff.

I want to be recognized for this art. I want people to ooh and aah, and hell, even pay me for my scrapbooking.

But at the same time, I don't want to do the art for anyone else. I'm tired of doing albums for people with their photos, it's boring and most of the photos are bad. No fun trying to make bad photos look good.

I thought teaching at the scrapbook store would include both creativity and money, but the clientele and the supplies aren't really fun for me, they're beginners and I'm just not.

I've thought about trying out for another design team but that just seems like a bunch of stress and girly gossip and deadlines, and most importantly, someone else telling me what I need to do and use to be creative. Or maybe I'm just bitter because I've tried out before and not made it? ;)

I've thought about submitting my work to magazines but it's such a hassle. I did find the Basic Grey (my favorite scrapbooking manufacturer) website www.basicgrey.com and I submitted my work to them.

I've thought about making things for Ebay, I think I could just be creative and see if anyone likes what I do. That way I'd make money but not have to do anything a certain way. I'd also be working at my very own pace, an important issue due to my job and my family.

I dunno. Anyone got any grand ideas for me?

Co I think the Ebay thing has some merit.

You know I had a problem with the scrappin for hire thing to. It was just a pain in the ass working with someone else's photos and on their time schedule.

Ebay gives you the flexibility to sell as you create

And if you end up with an inventory, you might want to look into selling premade albums at a craft fair.

I'd check out some in your area to see what's selling and for how much.

Vacation, baby and school days albums should be popular.

I can't wait to see where this takes you.
