I agree with Bess. The secret to good parenting is to remain In Control, Be the Boss, and Act Like An Adult!

Ah yes....the days when I could physically pick my kids up and enforce the law of the mommy.
Now they are too big, too heavy and I have resorted to withholding of privileges.
Works pretty well most of the time...unless they've copped some candy on the sly and are suffering the effects of a sugar buzz.

I have pointed out to my daughter more than once that the key to an easy life is not to annoy your mother. At least at her age.
